Since opening our doors in 2009 we have achieved many of our aims, scroll down for a brief run down of our accomplishments thus far.
With only four employees, glassHUS was formed, initially managing projects from an office in Sunderland, where our process involved; estimating, design, raw material purchasing and installation on sight. The fabrication was then being outsourced.
Our first major project was Holiday Lets, Ambleside, a job worth £20,000.
Sainsbury’s extension, Silksworth, Sunderland was successfully tendered under Vinci Construction, totalling £120,000 – a huge order at the time.
By this time, we opened our own 3,500ft² premises for manufacture at Rivergreen, Pallion. There were still only 8 employees at glassHUS. This was the establishment of the organisation that glassHUS has grown to become. The first manufacturing job at these premises was for South Tyneside College phase 3 under Robertson Construction, a tender in excess of £300,000.
Westmoreland Retail Park, Cramlington saw the relationship with RG Group flourish as further tenders were successfully secured across the UK.
After outgrowing our previous factory, we relocated to our current home utilising a space in excess of 10,000ft². We immediately procured our first CNC machine.
We made the decision to open a projects management office in Dundee, Scotland. Since the opening, we have successfully completed jobs totalling £5m in Scotland alone.
Sunderland Vocational College was a major contract for glassHUS and the first project with BAM Construction. Due to the successful completion of this job, three other major projects were secured.
The decision was made to open a fabrication facility in Dundee to replace the current projects office and accompany the divisions present estimation, design and installation team. This factory is expected to open August 2017.
